There are two parts to almost every family law matter: the emotional part and the financial part. At the Law Offices of Allan P. Loewe, our job is to help you get through both. The emotional part ---- adjusting to a new life, worrying about your children, about your finances, and about your future ----- is a very real part of your case. You may be surprised how your emotions will begin to feel more manageable as we work together to get your financial life in order, and make appropriate support and custody arrangements.
When it comes to the financial part, we believe you should trust the law firm that some of America's biggest corporations trust. Big corporations are demanding, and you should be too. Your life and your future are at stake. This is not the time for you to take a chance on an inexperienced attorney, or to simply hope for the best. This is the time to take control of your life so you can guarantee yourself a better future.
We have handled a wide range of Family Law matters, for husbands, wives, grandparents, children, and others, including:
- Dissolution (Divorce)
- Child Custody and Visitation
- Child Support
- Spousal Support (Alimony)
- Prenuptial and Postnuptial Agreements
- Restraining Orders
- Domestic Partnership Act
- Enforcement of Court Orders
- Domestic Violence
- Child Abuse
- Name Change
Our clients often tell us that they feel a great sense of relief the very moment they retain our firm. Relief because they've taken the first step toward protecting themselves and their family, relief because their future instantly feels a little brighter, and relief because they know there is now a place to turn, whether it's to respond to an unreasonable spouse, to seek the Court's assistance, or to help plan for the future. When you hire the Law Offices of Allan P. Loewe, you're not just hiring lawyers, your hiring people who truly care about you and your kids.
Settlement v. Trial
It is often in our client's best interest to settle their cases. Settlement can save attorneys fees and provide peace of mind. Early settlement can also lead to a better relationship between the parties because they avoid having to go through the name-calling and unpleasant tactics so common at trial. Of course, when the parties get along, their children ultimately benefit. Fortunately, we have been able to favorably settle the vast majority of our cases.
But sometimes settlement is simply not possible. Whether it's custody or visitation issues, disputes regarding division of property, or arguments over support payments, some cases seem destined to end up in trial. When this happens, you'll want a seasoned attorney in your corner because the courtroom is an intimidating place, even for most attorneys.
It takes considerable experience and expertise to be able to wisely advise clients whether they should settle a case or push forward to trial. This can be a crucial moment in a client's life, both financially and emotionally. You should have the steady hand of an experienced attorney guiding you at just such a moment.
It can be difficult and frustrating when you live out-of-state, but need to prosecute or defend a Family Law case in Southern California. At the Law Offices of Allan P. Loewe, we represent many out-of-state clients in all types of matters, including divorce, custody and visitation, child and spousal support, collecting monies owed, and modifying existing Court Orders. We invite you to call our office for a free, in-depth telephone consultation.
Attorney's Fees and Costs
We offer a free, one-hour initial consultation in most cases. During the hour, we'll explain the law to you, tell you what your rights are, give you an idea of what a good settlement might look like, and tell you what to expect if you go to court. And we'll answer your questions.
If you decide to use our firm, we'll handle your case on an hourly basis. We charge our clients only for the time we actually spend working on their case. You will be asked to pay a Retainer, a fee paid in advance to cover our anticipated services, at the time you hire us. The amount of the Retainer is determined on a case-by-case basis.
Our clients are responsible for court costs, although we may advance costs in certain situations. In appropriate cases, we will also seek an award of attorney's fees from the other party, potentially relieving our own clients of at least some of their financial burden.
When we initially meet with you --- before you ever retain our firm ---- we will fully and clearly explain our fee requirements to you.
At the Law Offices of Allan P. Loewe, we have built our reputation on providing our clients with first-class legal representation at reasonable fees.
